Lots
of new paintings to look at. Many are still for sale but not for long.
More news to come soon.
May 9, 2008
Hello.
The
new newsletter came out a little over a week ago. If you were signed up
for it and did not receive it, please let me know. As always, I have been
working on lots of new stuff and will be posting new works on the site
very soon. I will be participating in this year's ARTWALK in Sandpoint,
ID that begins in June. Also, I now have five paintings in the Tight Wire
Gallery here in Bonners Ferry. It's just down the street from Groove Studio
where I continue to display and sell many of my works.
Lastly,
if you happen to be buying my art for investment purposes (aside from
its beauty), this email from an ebay buyer not too long ago should be
of interest:
"Hi
Jeff,
Just wanted to let you know your painting has been sold for $800.00 at
my gallery. I thought you might want to know how good you are. :) I could
have asked for more if it wasn't ebay price...
Regards,

Hi.
Not too much to report. I've been painting away and have added some
new works to my gallery. I've got some new things going up for sale on
ebay this coming week. There are some possible happenings on the horizon
so I'll send out one of my newsletters if and when that does happen.
Until then, keep checking back and join the newsletter.

Ok,
I finally sent out a newsletter.
It's
not big, it's not wonderful, but I did do it. And don't worry. If you
got it, I don't plan on sending one out every other day. Maybe ever couple
of months or so just to keep you all up to date on what's going on with
my art. If
you would like to sign up to be part of be part of this newsletter, please
write here
to be added. There
are lots of new paintings, my Whacky Holiday Cards and I suggest you visit
www.metroorangeart.com/ where
I am being represented on the East Coast. I guess that's it for
now.

I
have just uploaded some of my newest paintings. Many have not sold yet
so get them while you can. I have sold some of my biggest and most favorite
paintings recently and am working on some new BIG pieces. I have brought
back my DEMENTED
XMAS CARDS. Right now they are listed on ebay only, but I plan to
sell them here on my site too. And finally, I am going to start a periodic
newsletter that should start going out within the next two weeks.

The Artist's Tour of Northern Idaho didn't turn out so well. But for those
people who did come by and visit, thank you.
I had an article written about some of my art in a recent
sandpoint, ID publication, the Sandpoint Reader. Click here
to view it.
I'll soon have works at The
Route of Art Gallery in Florence, Alabama. I'm
really looking forward to having my paintings there.
My new studio continues to afford me the opportunity to do
more and more paintings and explore more and more styles. Here are some
new images of me doing some recent works.

June 10 , 2007
I will be participating in the Art Walk in Sandpoint starting June 22.
My main show will be at the Pend D'Oreille
Winery and I will have two pieces showing at the Power House. Also
coming up I will be participating in the Artist's
Studio Tour of Northern Idaho the last two weekends of July.
I
now have giclee prints for sale of the following paintings:
On The Town
Model in Black Hat
Playground
Maneki Cat
Here are some new pics from my studio taken a while back...

The new news
is I got my very own art studio. What? You ask. Where were you painting
before? Well, I've always set up my studio at home but I wanted to start
doing some much larger works and Carloyn Testa who runs the Groove Studio
had a place in a bldg. she owns here in town down in the basement for
really cheap. So, I moved on in and have been painting in there ever since.
People in town are calling it the dungeon. Pictures to come soon.
Next up. I
am listed on a couple of sites that are pretty cool because I am listed
with some artists that i really like a lot and draw a lot of inspiration
from.

First, Happy New Year. Hope everyone out there has a great 2007. I just
uploaded some paintings from the end of 2006 and some new paintings from
this year. If you have a moment, check those out. I know that I have really
neglected updating any of the ebay section listings. I just sell too many
there an don't have time to list on that part of the site anymore. And
if something that you like and might want to buy has sold, I am able to
commission a piece that would be very similar. Thanks.

I just put up 7 paintings at Eichardt's Pub, Grill & Coffee
House in Sandpoint, Idaho. Below you can see a list of some of
the new places I have my works hanging. Unfortunately for most of you,
they are up here in northern Idaho.
Next, I want to wish everyone Happy Holidays and thank all of you who
have purchased my paintings over 2006.

The
Groove Studio
thing is working out better than I thought. I've already
sold several pieces there and 2-3 were to people from out of state. It's
actually a very nice gallery and I am working on re-designing the website.
Other than that, I trudge along with my artwork, trying new
and old things.

I will be having works on display and for sale in our little town of Bonners
Ferry starting June 3 at the Groove
Studio. I'll have updates once that beings.
March 26, 2006
Spring is here. Time for new beginnings. I've been mostly
working on smaller pieces, stuff for ebay, but plan on doing some bigger
stuff for awhile. Especially if these ebay paintings don't start selling
soon. ha ha.
I did do
a a very large commissioned piece for one of my regular customers, Michael
Weiss, out in Chicago. Here's a pic of me working on it. It's 4x3 feet.
The hardest part was packing and shipping it.

Just wanted to wish every one a Safe and Peaceful 2006. I've been churning
out the work for my ebayloyalists that continue to grow and grow. Thank
you to everyone who has bought something and for all the kind words. I
will be working on some bigger paintings soon and should have more stuff
listed up here on the site.
Oh, and I'm
looking for representation or an agent. No, really. No kidding.
Nov. 15, 2005
Haven't added any new works to the site yet since the last update. I sold
some of my old favorites like Evil Clown and Uncle Fester's
Son. Those were some of my earliest paintings. I also sold my biggest,
Weapons of Mass Hysteria. Im still spending a lot of time producing
works for ebay. It's also starting to get cold here in Idaho. Especially
for this California native.
Oct. 18, 2005
As you can see by my previous update, my saying "more soon"
was sort of relative. Soon, depending on what "soon" means.
Anyway, I got very lax in my updating the site and getting new stuff up
here. Well, I've been working hard the last few days putting up new works
and changing the way things are categorized. I guess I was waiting until
I did a total redesign of the site before I put new stuff up, but that
is going to have to wait. I actually have even newer stuff to put up,
but not too much. That I really will try and get up on the site "soon".
Oh, and the Holland thing (see below) fell through. At least for now.
In the meantime, my ebay store keeps chugging along.
July 21 , 2005
Still not
much in the way of updates. I need to get more of my new stuff up on the
site. I also need to finish re-designing the site. In the meantime, I'm
enjoying the small town life here in Bonners Ferry. I've tried to stay
as busy as possible with my art. I have a new gallery representative in
the UK and we'll see how that works out. I'm in the process of getting
one in Holland too. More soon...?

Many of Jeff's works are created in direct response to events happening
in the world today. Even though his style is 'naive' his work is a raw
expression of the collective psyche, representing the feelings of those
who abhor the atrocities of war and terrorism. While many painters give
us a sugar coated reflection of the world Jeff Hughart paints straight
from the heart confronting topics that most contemporary artist's shy
away from. There is a delightful wry humour that runs through Jeff's work
when he is exploring themes such as 'celebrity' and 'media'. His more
serious work is a personal reaction to key world events often recording
the horror of contemporary culture's darkest moments.-- Stephen Rumney,

I now
have over 100 paintings in private collections around the world: I
also
sell lots of works on ebay and my reason for selling on ebay is as follows:
"I wanted to have my work available to anyone and for a reasonable
price. So, I began doing smaller pieces just for ebay. Work that I could
sell cheaply, usually $20-50 and rarely exceeding $100, and let people own
an original piece of artwork from me. Not a copy. Always an original. Plus
my larger pieces are more expensive and I think for anyone to lay out some
hard earned money for them, they need to see more than a digital image online."
Here's what some of his buyers are saying:
"i dig your stuff. you hit that raw exposed nerve
i like to
explore. keep pulling and ripping."
"I Just Love this piece! Great artist! Huge Thanks from the UK!!"
"Splendido lavoro, ottima comunicazione e spedizione veloce"
"A brilliant interpretation of the Crucifixion!"
"Beautiful work of art! I LOVED IT!!!!!! Amazing Artist!"
"Awesome! ...and badass painting"

"merci beaucoup Jeff c'est vraiment du grand art ....."
"One piece is better than the next. So fun...makes my walls smile!"
"AWESOME ARTIST. I HAVE MANY OF HIS PIECES AND THEY ALWAYS AMAZE ME
WITH JOY!"
